Theory, models, and diagnostics
Frameworks & Measurement
The Institute’s frameworks work together to explain how conditions shape behavior, trace how those conditions operate across systems, and assess stability and alignment.
Human Conditions Theory
The foundational theory examines how environmental, relational, and institutional conditions influence behavior, regulation, and performance.
Distributed Conditions Model
The model traces how conditions are distributed across organizations and how their interactions can support stability or produce fragmentation.
Human Conditions Index
The HCI assesses the stability of the conditions people encounter. It is designed to help identify emerging weaknesses before outcomes deteriorate.
Coherence Index
The CI examines alignment across governance, execution capacity, and environmental conditions. It helps identify where responsibilities or decisions pull a system in different directions.
From theory to design
Theory explains behavior. The model maps the relationships between systems. The indices help diagnose conditions and alignment. Together, they give institutions a way to decide where to focus redesign.
